A pivotal moment for Wisconsin: voting in the November election

Our democracy only works when we decide to participate. This upcoming election on Tuesday, Nov. 3, is a crucial and pivotal moment for Wisconsin and the United States. As you prepare to vote, whether by absentee mail-in or socially distanced in-person, I urge you to take the necessary steps to have your voice heard.

Voting is the cornerstone of our democracy, and we must do everything we can to uphold this fundamental right for all Wisconsinites. Now more than ever during these unprecedented times, we must ensure the integrity of our elections and democratic process. The security of our elections and exercising the right to vote simply cannot be overstated.

The right to vote gives each and every citizen the freedom to shape our future, and we must commit to continuing to pursue policies and necessary measures that safely protect the right to vote. From automatic voter registration, ending partisan gerrymandering, unlocking the vote for formerly incarcerated people, expanding polling places, access and more, we have a lot of work to do.

Furthermore, as we continue to face these significant challenges in the midst of a pandemic, it is absolutely vital that we take steps to modernize and streamline our voting processes so all eligible voters can exercise this fundamental right safely. No one should have to choose between protecting their health and exercising their right to vote.

Our democratic system must be protected so all voices can be heard, and I encourage you to make a voting plan so you may safely ensure that your voice is represented in the November election. Keeping ourselves and our community safe and healthy is a top priority. Make sure you are able to participate in our democracy for the Nov. 3 election, safely.
