Well-known Wisconsin author Dennis McCann will speak at the Friends of Lakeview Library annual meeting Thursday, Feb. 27. The event will be free, and refreshments will be available at 5:45 pm. There will be a brief 6 pm business meeting.

McCann — author of “Badger Boneyards: The Eternal Rest of the Story” and “The Wisconsin Story: 150 People, Places and Turning Points that Shaped the Badger State” — will speak from 6:30‒7:30 pm. He is an engaging speaker. Books will be available for purchase and autographing.

McCann, who lives in Bayfield and Madison, is a UW-Madison journalism graduate who previously worked for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He is now a freelance writer.

Other books by McCann include “This Superior Place: Stories of Bayfield and the Apostle Islands” and “This Storied River: Legend and Lore of the Upper Mississippi.” He is a Wisconsin Historical Society Press author and a member of the society’s Speakers Bureau.

All are welcome at this free event, but only members of the Friends of Lakeview Library may vote during the business meeting.
