Hello from your farm neighbors on Troy Drive. Troy Farm is gearing up for our 20th growing season. We started planting seeds in our greenhouse in late February. We’re excited to share some of what’s happening with our Northside neighbors.

Our annual plant sale is Saturday, May 8, from 10 am‒3 pm, at 502 Troy Drive. We encourage you to pre-order your vegetable, herb and flower seedlings and pick them up the day of the sale. Limited quantities will be available to purchase the day of the sale. These are the same plants that we plant at our farm. Order online by April 24 at rootedwi.org. Proceeds benefit our Urban Farmer Training Program.

Our first group of Urban Farmer Training Program participants start working at the farm April 5. A group of summer- season trainees will start in June. Trainees learn all aspects of vegetable production, from starting seeds to selling produce.

Folks familiar with our farm have probably seen us at the Northside Farmers Market on Sundays. Everyone is encouraged to shop from our booth but those who want another way to support our farm can buy a Farm Membership. You pay upfront, and each week throughout the season, you come to our booth and pick out your produce. We’ll deduct what you buy that week from your credit until your balance is gone. We also have a farm stand on Thursday evenings where you can pick up your produce.

Our Food Access Initiative provides discounted Farm Memberships for income-eligible households. Memberships are discounted 50‒75% off. We also accept payment using SNAP benefits.

Learn more about our Farm Memberships by visiting us online at rootedwi.org/farms/troy-farm or by calling 608-240-0409.
