The Northside bids a fond farewell (for now) to Dean and Judy Smith, who moved to Utah in May to be closer to family after 47 years of living on the Northside. You may recognize Dean as a longtime neighbor, as a local master gardener, as a former member of the Northside Planning Council — and from his bimonthly newspaper route to local businesses. Dean has been volunteering with the Northside News since 2007, delivering stacks of the paper to Northside businesses and making sure they stay stocked between issues. His cheerful smile and commitment to the newspaper will be missed. We wish them the best and know they’ll be reading about the Northside from their new home.
