In response to COVID-19, WPCRC staff has been redeployed to different sections of Madison Parks Division. WPCRC staff is providing on-going support to the emergency men’s shelter, parks maintenance and payroll, communication with the public and community stakeholders, program planning, and preparation for a phased reopening of the center.

The pandemic has significantly impacted teen programs on the Northside (and across the city) with limited opportunities for middle schoolers and little-to-no opportunities for high schoolers. Northside teens have indicated a strong desire to be active and engage in social opportunities with their friends. Madison Parks Division is working with community partners to develop a responsive teen program two or three nights a week with the hope of starting mid-October.

WPCRC remains closed and is currently being used as an emergency shelter facility. The timeline that the center will be used for these purposes is uncertain. All exercise room memberships will be extended to credit time we were closed due to COVID-19.

If you do not feel comfortable returning, we will issue a prorated refund upon request. For refund requests, contact cabarca@cityofmadison.com.

Thank you for your patience during these unprecedented times. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon.
