South Central Wisconsin Move to Amend meets May 12

April/May 2015

How can we get the big money out of politics once and for all? This is the most important issue of our times.

The only way to permanently end the disastrous influence caused by the U.S. Supreme Court Citizens United decision is to amend the Constitution to say that corporations do not have the same rights as individuals and that spending money on politics isn’t the same as freedom of speech.

There are many groups all over the country who are working on the movement to amend the Constitution. The local non-partisan group, South Central Wisconsin Move to Amend, has been helping cities and towns get this issue on their ballots. Voters are always in favor of the amendment — usually more than 80 percent are in favor.

Join us May 12, 6:30 pm, at the Lakeview Library to learn what is being done. See the calendar of events insert for more information.
