The scouts of Troop 127 (boys) and Troop 7127 (girls) completed another successful Scouting for Food drive in March, collecting hundreds of items that help those in need right here in our own community. Scouts dropped flyers at neighbors’ doors and then a week later collected donations of nonperishable food items. Our scouts are happy to do a good turn, and every year they are deeply impressed by the generosity and kindness their neighbors show when asked. The donated food was given to The River Food Pantry. Thank you to all who were able to help those in need.

Scouts are now turning their planning to summer camp. Scouts will spend the week of July 26‒Aug. 1 camping at the Ed Bryant Scout Reserve on the Wisconsin River’s Castle Rock Lake. Youth ages 11‒17 are welcome to join the fun. Camp activities will include canoeing, metal forging, ATVs, astronomy and many more adventures. A week at scout camp is one of the most memorable and fun experiences in scouting. It can open a lifetime of opportunity, growth and exploration.

Do you know a child in at least sixth grade who would like to have fun adventuring in the outdoors? We are an active and inclusive group that offers an amazing opportunity for character growth and life-building experiences. It is a perfect time to get involved.
