Earth Week was in April but, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, events to celebrate Earth Week had to be rescheduled. We hope you will celebrate the beauty and wonder of nature by joining us at the following rescheduled event.

On Sunday, June 28, 1‒4 pm, visit the Madison Bird and Nature Festival at Warner Park Rainbow Shelter.

Celebrate nature with a fun and educational afternoon outdoors with lots to do. Nature lovers, friends, families and children will enjoy ongoing Live Raptor shows all afternoon, free hayrides, making prairie seed balls, pond dipping for aquatics, taking a tree walk, prairie walk, bird walk, frog walk, seeing live snakes and live turtles, meeting the International Crane Foundation mascot, face painting, food cart, bounce house, music, nature group exhibits and children’s activities.

The site provides easy bike path access and free parking. This is a free, family friendly event; no registration is required; pets are not allowed. Free table space is available for exhibitors. Volunteers are welcome. Contact paul_noeldner@hotmail.com 608-698-0104.

This event is co-sponsored by Madison Friends of Urban Nature (FUN) partner groups Madison Parks, Madison Audubon, Wild Warner, Friends of Cherokee Marsh, Friends of Starkweather Creek, Sierra Club, Aldo Leopold Nature Center, Wisconsin DNR and many other friends and environmental groups.

The Madison Parks Division may decide to cancel the festival if public health concerns warrant it. See cityofmadison.com/parks/blog for updates and possible cancellation.
