New weekly Neighborhood Market launches at NorthGate

By Brendon Krueger
FEED Bakery Training Program

A new Wednesday evening market coordinated by FEED Kitchens to connect neighborhood businesses, artisans and residents with each other and the greater Madison community will begin Wednesday, June 6.

The NorthGate Neighborhood Market will be a place to enjoy a variety of fine foods, premium baked goods and unique retail offerings from neighborhood stores, craftspeople and local artists. It will also provide a forum for the exchange of ideas, information and community networking.

It may grow to incorporate live entertainment, hands-on demonstrations and guest speakers; there are countless possibilities and opportunities. After all, the vitality of a community depends on the strength of local businesses, the well-being of residents and positive interactions between neighbors.

We look forward to hearing feedback from the community as the market evolves, and we invite participation in the process of getting the market started. Please contact Jan (333-7977) or Martee (230-1224) with comments, suggestions or inquiries about being a vendor at the market.

The NorthGate Neighborhood Market will take place weekly on Wednesdays from June 6‒Aug. 22, 3:30–7 pm, weather permitting, at NorthGate Shopping Center at the corner of North Sherman Avenue and Aberg Avenue. There will be no market July 4. Details are available at facebook.com/FEEDKitchens.
