Madison Police continue Amigos en Azul youth soccer series

By Officer Gracia Rodriguez
Madison Police Department

Southside Soccer Series is a free soccer camp for all children from Dane County. This year will be the fifth consecutive year that Amigos en Azul (Friends in Blue) will be hosting this event in the city of Madison. The camp will be held on three Saturdays, June 8, 15, and 22, from 10 am‒2 pm, at Leopold Elementary School, 2602 Post Road, Madison.

The soccer camp is for boys and girls ages 6‒16. The equipment necessary to play will be provided, and lunch will be served at no cost to participants and their families. All participants must be registered. The Southside Soccer Series is a family event. We invite families to bring their chairs and umbrellas to enjoy the day.

This year Amigos en Azul will provide transportation to children who live on the Northside. If the participant needs transportation, please call Amigos en Azul at 608-209-2403 and leave your contact information for a call back.

To obtain the registration forms, you can find that information on the police department’s webpage (cityofmadison.com/police/community/amigosenazul/) or follow us on Facebook to stay updated on this event (Facebook/Amigos en Azul).

Amigos en Azul is composed of City of Madison and Dane County-area police officers dedicated to dissolving cultural barriers, building partnerships and opening lines of communication between the Latino community and the City of Madison Police Department, in partnership with Dane County-area law enforcement.
