Construction is nearly complete at the new Tennyson Senior Living Community. The 24 apartments and 36 studios in the assisted living building will welcome their first residents in September. To celebrate, Independent Living, Inc. will host a grand opening Wednesday, Oct. 17.

“We’re thrilled to invite the public to celebrate with us,” commented Jessica Peterson, Independent Living, Inc. Chief Housing Officer. “This event will be a great opportunity for us to meet and greet the Northside community and welcome our new residents.”

Former Governor Martin Schreiber will be the featured speaker for the grand opening event. He will address Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, and the impact cognitive disorders have on family and friends. As the husband of a woman living with Alzheimer’s disease, Schreiber understands firsthand the challenges of providing care to an aging loved one.

Following Schreiber’s program, guests will be invited to tour the Tennyson Senior Living Community and enjoy light refreshments. Tours will include the new Health and Wellness Center with its therapy pool, spa suite and fitness classrooms.
