Help a Northside senior
As we age, we often worry about our ability to mop the kitchen floor, carry heavy bags of groceries or mow the lawn. These tasks are magnified if we lack the ability to pay for cleaning, grocery or mowing services, cannot afford transportation, or do not have a family member nearby to help. NESCO helps seniors tackle these intertwined issues through our volunteer-run Home Chore Program. There is a large senior adult population on the north and east sides of Madison and the NESCO Home Chore Program can’t keep up with the growing number of requests for assistance. We need your help.

There are many ways to get involved with this program: doing light housecleaning, grocery and pet food delivery, yard work, friendly visits and much more. We welcome anyone willing to commit their time, skills and energy to make a difference in someone’s life. Our volunteers say this opportunity often flourishes into a lasting friendship. This opportunity can be flexible with your schedule because we work with you and the older adult to find times and days that work best for both of you.

Since 1986, NESCO’s Home Chore Program has matched volunteers with limited-income senior adults to assist with basic home chores to help them remain independent and in their own homes. This is a free service for adults 60 and older and is a great way to make an immediate impact on a population that is often forgotten.
