Boy Scout Troop 127
Boy Scouts from Troop 127 went on a ski adventure to Cascade Mountain in December. The trip was part of a group event involving other troops from the Glacier’s Edge Council.
For a fee of only $20 per person, scouts and family members were able to get lift tickets and ski or snowboard rentals. Some scouts also took beginner ski lessons for an additional $5.
During this trip, our troop started working on our Snow Sports Merit Badge, which includes a number of requirements that help scouts learn about safety, responses to ski accidents, skiing techniques, proper use of equipment and responsible outdoor etiquette. Scouts learned how to have fun while being safe on the slopes. I enjoyed exploring new trails.
The troop has other outdoor events planned this winter and more fun activities, including camping trips, coming up in the spring.
