Bierock Madison is a bar and restaurant that recently changed its licensing to become a restaurant and bar. A small distinction to some, but for owners Brian and Amanda Carriveau, it meant they could reopen for indoor dining after being closed to this type of business since July 1, 2020.

“Just before Christmas we were approved to have 24 diners, which is 25% of our 99-person seating capacity,” said Brian. “COVID regulations hit us hard because of being classified as a bar. To change our classification, we had to sell more food than alcohol before the change could be approved.”

The restaurant is known for bierocks, a savory pastry filled with beef, cabbage, onions and seasoning, as well as burgers. On weekends, they open at 11 am to sell a breakfast bierock. They survived during COVID-19 by offering takeout, curbside pick-up, delivery and in-store growler fills to go.

Don’t fret, they’ll continue to offer these service options. Go to bierock.square.site on the web to find the menu and place your order.
