NewBridge 2020: virtual programs and fundraising

NewBridge is offering a variety of virtual programming (exercise classes, bingo, discussions, book club, story-telling, technology, speakers and more) and will do so until health experts believe it is safe for seniors to gather in person again.

Our case management services are conducted by phone and internet or provided on a limited basis to address critical situations that arise. Our footcare service is open on a limited basis.

Our offices remain closed to the public, and staff is rotating days in our offices or working from home. The NewBridge office inside Warner Park Community Recreation Center remains closed until at least September.

The coronavirus outbreak has significantly impacted the 2020 fundraising efforts of NewBridge that support the ongoing programs and services we provide for seniors in the community. Due to the circumstances of the pandemic, NewBridge has canceled our major fundraiser, Black Tie Bingo, this year; postponed our annual summer concert series at the Warner Park Shelter; and discontinued AppleFest. We hope to host our concert series in the fall or winter but this remains uncertain. The 2021 Black Tie Bingo date has been set for May 6, 2021, 6‒9 pm, at Monona Terrace. We hope you will join us at this wonderful event.

To help offset the loss of revenue from these fundraisers, NewBridge is hosting a weeklong online fundraiser, BRIDGING HOPE, the week of Oct. 5‒9. Join us online and support a critical NewBridge service for seniors that touches your heart, watch a livestream concert, participate in a silent auction for some wonderful art pieces painted by seniors, enter your name for a grand prize drawing and much more. Our goal is to raise $30,000 to support low-income seniors in Madison. Visit newbridgemadison.org in the coming weeks for more details.
