The River Food Pantry

Jordan felt inspired after learning about The River Food Pantry’s Power of 10 (with every $10 donated to the pantry, The River is able to give away $100 worth of food). During a garage sale, 8-year-old Jordan set up a table to sell bottled water benefiting The River. That Monday, Jordan walked into the pantry with a smile, holding the $20 she raised. The $20 donated to The River will feed a family for an entire week.

There are multiple ways you can support The River Food Pantry. If you’re considering hosting a garage sale, you could donate part of the proceeds to The River or donate the leftover gently used clothing, household items, blankets, towels and toys after the sale. Donations can be dropped off Monday‒Friday from 9 am‒6 pm.

Another great way to support is hosting a food drive benefiting The River. Gather friends and family and host a food drive at your church, in your office or in your neighborhood. Collect nonperishable food and household items that will go to struggling families in the community.

Have you visited Dane County’s busiest food pantry? The River runs on volunteers, who dedicate their time to stock shelves, cook, serve meals, clean or guide clients through the pantry. Be a part of helping over 600 families a week who visit The River Food Pantry for assistance.
