VSA Wisconsin has hired Karen Gallagher to serve as the next executive director. She is replacing Kathie Wagner, who worked for VSA Wisconsin for 27 years and served as the executive director from 2002‒2018. Kathie retired last month.

Karen Gallagher comes with a wealth of experience in the nonprofit industry. She recently served as the vice president of development at the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County. She previously worked for St. Colletta of Wisconsin, the American Heart Association and the University of Wisconsin. We welcome Karen as the next leader of VSA Wisconsin.

Gallagher shared that she is excited about her new role as executive director and looks forward to expanding VSA Wisconsin’s mission and outreach in the Dane County community and throughout the state of Wisconsin.

“VSA Wisconsin’s 32-year history speaks for itself; however, we must continue to find new ways to serve people with disabilities. Art education is a vast field that can enrich the lives of people with disabilities. Our goal is provide a creative outlet for all people of all ages.” Gallagher said.

Please join us in welcoming our new executive director at our upcoming Call for Art Exhibition April 15‒May 5; Madison Gallery Night, Friday, May 4, 5‒9 pm; and a public reception Saturday, May 5, 2‒4 pm, at the VSA Wisconsin Gallery, 1709 Aberg Ave., Suite 1.
