In Business, a business-to-business publication of the Greater Madison region, held the fourth annual Women of Industry Awards Nov. 15 at the Best Western Premier Park Hotel. The award luncheon celebrated the forward-thinking women who have had a significant impact on their industries, whether locally, regionally, nationally or globally. The winners were Christine Beatty, senior center and senior services director, Madison Senior Center (Legacy Award Winner); Karen DeSanto, executive director, Boys & Girls Club of West Central Wisconsin; Deborah J. Gilpin, president and CEO, Madison Children’s Museum; Lisa Johnson, CEO, BioForward Wisconsin; and Teri Bruns, vice president of global partner solutions, VMware.

Bruns, a Northsider living in Maple Bluff, is a 30-plus year veteran in the technology field. As vice president of VMware for four years, she leads a global team of solution architects well versed in all aspects of technology. VMware, a subsidiary of Dell Technologies, is a virtualization software company with technologies that simplify IT complexity and streamline operations, helping businesses become more agile, efficient and profitable. VMware enables business teams to work from any device, anytime, anywhere.

Locally, Bruns serves on the UW Health-American Family Children’s Hospital advisory board, as well as the Maple Bluff board of directors and Sherman Plaza board of directors.
