When TASC (Total Administrative Services Corporation) owners Dan and Patti Rashke decide to make an impact on their community, they make it a team effort.

Nearly 1,200 employees gathered at Monona Terrace this March for a three-day Annual Company Meeting that marked the organization’s 45th anniversary. From that downtown hub, TASC’s volunteer corps completed acts of service that will benefit students of the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD).

“I am in awe of how quickly TASC has grown in the past five years,” said Patti Rashke. “In 2015 we sent 500 employees to 40 nonprofit organizations around Madison. We thought that was impressive. Now our volunteer team is more than twice that size.”

“We are proud to focus our efforts on educational experiences for Madison’s public schoolchildren,” Dan said. “Our employees are supporting the unique needs of every MMSD school, with a focus on STEAM [science, technology, engineering, art and math] resources and personal care items.”

Education is a keystone of TASC’s corporate philanthropy strategy, which aims to minimize opportunity gaps and help students thrive.

Recognizing MMSD’s longstanding partnership with Demco and the district-wide Makerspace initiative, TASC relied on their expertise to select Makerspace products and hands-on activities that engage students academically.

“We are thrilled that TASC is providing resources for our students and teachers to create spaces where students will gather to design, invent, tinker, explore, build and discover,” said TJ McCray, MMSD’s director of instructional technology & media services. “This speaks directly to our district’s vision for all students — that they will graduate with the skills and abilities to be successful in college, career and community.”

Between materials, transportation, logistical support and paid volunteer hours, TASC’s gift is worth about $400,000.
