Schools of Hope seeks volunteers to support Northside students

By Alex Appleton
Schools of Hope

Schools of Hope is a unique collaboration between schools, community volunteers and organizations like the Urban League of Greater Madison. The Schools of Hope Middle School program relies on community volunteers to support students of color and those from low-income families with math and literacy to ensure that all students are high school, college and community ready.

We currently need tutors at all twelve sites, including Sherman Middle School. Prior tutoring experience is not required; Schools of Hope will provide a variety of orientation and training opportunities. Volunteers are given the specifics of school tutoring during onsite orientation.

If you are interested, we would love to have you. Please contact: Urban League of Greater Madison Volunteer Coordinator Katy Johnson at 729-1226, kjohnson@ulgm.org; Sherman Schools of Hope Tutor Coordinator Alex Appleton at 204-2121, aappleton@madison.k12.wi.us.
