Old National Bank management changes at Northside branch

By Lauri Lee
Northside Business Association

There’s a new face at Old National Bank. Ginger Conroy was introduced as the Old National Banking Center Manager March 6 at the North Sherman Branch located at 2929 N. Sherman Ave. Karen Thompson, the manager of this location for over 34 years, has transitioned to a new role as Manager of the Regional Pool. She will still be based at the Sherman Banking Center when not assisting at other Banking Center locations.

Thompson started as an AnchorBank manager in November 1983, and continued in this role when the branch converted to Old National in September 2016. She oversaw all branch operations with duties in consumer lending and licensed financial adviser.

A Northside leader since starting at the North Sherman Avenue branch, Thompson has served through a number of long-term commitments. When the Northside Business Association began in 1993, she became the organization’s first board president, followed by 24 years in the role of secretary. She continues to be a member of the NBA board. In addition to serving on several neighborhood planning committees over the years, Thompson was also a 20-year member of the Northside Planning Council, starting when it was organized in 1993.

As manager of the Sherman branch, Conroy will be responsible for managing the sales, client service and daily operations of the Banking Center. Other responsibilities include enhancing existing client relationships, developing relationships with new clients and leading outbound small business sales efforts.

Throughout Conroy’s 17 years of financial experience, she has enjoyed the privilege of helping clients and getting to know them, understanding their financial goals and providing the best solutions. “I look forward to getting to know everyone on the Northside,” said Conroy. “Please stop by to meet me when you have the chance.”

Congratulations to Ginger and Karen on your new positions.
