Northside Farmers Market
Only one month until the opening day of the Northside Farmers Market. The first day of the summer season is Sunday, May 5, 8:30 am‒12:30 pm, at Northside TownCenter. Join as we start our 15th summer season. Look for more good music and some giveaways throughout the summer. At the time this article was written in early March, we knew of several returning vendors, including Fischer Family Farm, Hermsdorf Farms, Soap by Mom, Yellow Dog, Alexandra Art, Shoua Lee Vang and Fresh cool drinks. We will have more information on your local food producers as we get closer to opening day.
Celebrate Mother’s Day with us May 12. Moms, stop by the information booth to receive a flowering seedling to thank you for all you do.
The market began in June 2005 thanks to the hard work of a committed group of neighbors with a vision of maintaining access to local foods on the Northside. The market continues to thrive due to the many volunteers who oversee the operations and help create the Sunday morning meeting place each week.
If you are passionate about supporting healthy, sustainable, locally-grown food, please consider signing up to help set up the market, answer questions and process Quest purchases at the info booth, or help take it all down and put it away for the next week. This is a good time to start volunteering at the market because we are bringing back some volunteer incentives for those who sign up for shifts in advance and make a commitment to the market. The Northside Farmers Market happens every Sunday morning from May 5‒Oct. 20, 8:30 am‒12:30 pm, at the Northside TownCenter, 2817 N. Sherman Ave. Find us at the base of Willy Street Co-op parking lot, across from Warner Park. Our location makes it easy to get to by walking, bus, bicycle or car, with plenty of parking available.
