Lakeview Library launches curbside pickup and virtual services

By Carra Davies
Lakeview Neighborhood Librarian

While Lakeview Library is not currently open to the public, we are excited to offer a few ways that you can interact with the library while we all stay safe.

Phone reference line

Madison Public Library now has a dedicated phone reference line that is staffed seven days a week from 11 am‒7 pm. Call 608-315-5151 with your questions, and friendly reference staff will do their best to get you an answer or steer you in the right direction.

Curbside pickup

Curbside pickup began May 11. Call ahead (608-315-5151) to place holds. We can hold only items at our library; there is currently no transit of items between libraries. Once you are notified that your holds are ready, call 608-246-4547 to arrange a time to pick your items up at the curb outside the library. Hours for curbside pickup are Monday‒Friday, 11 am‒7 pm, and Saturday, 12‒5 pm.

Virtual programming

Madison Public Libraries are offering some virtual programming. Check out madisonpubliclibrary.org/events for weekly online story times and more.

Virtual book group

We have a virtual book group (online video meetings) where we discuss what we’re reading during this strange time. If you are interested in joining us, email lakeviewlib@gmail.com.

Important reminder

Madison Public Libraries are not able to take returns of library items at this time. But don’t worry, all due-dates for checked-out items have been extended until we reopen, so just hold on to those items and enjoy them for a while longer.

Lakeview Library staff are still available via email. If you have questions, write to us at lakeviewlib@gmail.com.

Stay well, everyone. We hope to talk to you soon.
