The Friends of Lakeview Library will host no sales (books or vinyl) for the remainder of 2020. Lakeview Friends cannot accept any donated items at this time. A poster will be displayed on the door/windows at Lakeview. Our good neighbor, Goodwill-North has reopened, 10 am‒6 pm every day, and is happy to accept items you no longer wish to keep.

All mail addressed to Madison libraries is delivered to the Central Library and continues to be stored there. Mail for Lakeview Library or Friends of Lakeview Library will be retrieved soon. Any donations or invoices will be responded to at that time. The Friends regret if we’ve not yet acknowledged your renewal or donation.

Cancellation of the sales Lakeview Friends have held for nearly 50 years will greatly reduce the funds we have long provided for library programming and materials. Our Lakeview Board must investigate other ways to raise funds to offset lost revenue from sales, and we invite your suggestions.

Even while closed, plans have been proceeding on the capital items planned from the generous bequest by Cheryl Rosen Weston to increase Lakeview’s collections, enhance teen services and space, and make the area at the front of the library more appealing with more shelves, seating and desk space.
