Climate Change Demystified: science, consequences and solutions

Northsiders are invited to hear a presentation and Q&A by Bob Lindmeier, WKOW Chief Meteorologist, on Wednesday, Sept. 26 from 6:45‒8 PM at the Maple Bluff Village Center, 15 Oxford Place. Lindmeier is a leader in a growing number of TV weather forecasters willing to take time to discuss climate change during his segment.

We hear the news every week: fire out west, floods and heat waves from Japan to India and Europe. It could seem like climate change is something that happens elsewhere, it comes and goes with the news cycle. But when we see the effects right in our own neighborhood, it becomes personal and has our attention. There are more frequent heavy rainfalls, a longer season for mosquitos and a shorter one for ice fishing and cross-country skiing.  Our winters and summers are trending warmer and wetter.

The event is sponsored by Citizens Climate Lobby, a non-partisan, non profit group promoting an economically and politically feasible solution.  There is hope for the future. Learn how you can be part of the solution. Interested? Visit our Facebook event to let us know, or contact me at brucecoryj@gmail.com.
