Circle of Friends receives mayor’s support for Warner Pool

Good news! Mayor Paul Soglin said he would give us a letter of support for the Warner Pool.

That means we can now do a financial feasibility study to see if we can raise the funds to build the Warner Aquatic Health & Wellness Center. We needed a letter of support from the mayor in order to do the funding feasibility study.

The Circle of Friends has the money to cover the cost of the study in our Madison Parks Foundation account. We will be asking for your input and keep you informed as to how we are doing.

In the last edition, you were introduced to the Circle of Friends Board of Directors. In this edition, I will share with you what we have been doing with our general funds account.

We asked Jacob Tissue, manager of the Warner Park Recreational Community Center (WPCRC), for a list of items they could use at WPCRC. From that list, the Circle of Friends chose to fund a larger TV for the meeting room and a rug at the entry to the gym from the lobby. The next time you visit, take a few minutes to see the purchases. There are more needs and we will continue to raise funds for them.

Thanks to all the cookie buyers out there, our Election Day cookie sales netted $300. We ran out of cookies at 6:15 pm. We could raise more funds if we had more volunteers to help bake the cookie dough that is mixed and ready to bake.

Go Northside.
