Circle of Friends offers Election Day cookie sale

Circle of Friends

Mark your calendar for the Circle of Friends (CoF) Election Day Cookie Sale, Tuesday, April 3, at the Warner Park Community Recreation Center (WPCRC). P support a pool on the North.

We are still waiting for the promised letter of support from Mayor Paul Soglin for the Warner Park pool that is needed before the project can move forward. Mayor Soglin has always supported an outdoor pool. The CoF proposed an indoor pool to be used year-round, but we have agreed to do the outdoor pool the mayor supports. The pool would be enclosed when more funds are raised.

We need the letter before we can start reaching out to the community since there will be no city funding for the pool. Hopefully, we will receive the letter of support soon so we can move ahead seeking support from the larger community. We haven’t heard from Mayor Soglin, but we figure no news is good news.

The next time you are at the WPCRC, check outsmart television in the game room. The CoF purchased the TV for children to play games on.

Membership in the CoF is open to all residents who use the WPCRC and want to be part of its continuing growth and success. Board members are selected from CoF members who have volunteered to help and have the time to participate on a working board. Our board members are all volunteers; we have no paid staff. New members and volunteers are always welcome. For information, contact dborchardt1@charter.net. Go Northside!
