A 45-year-old family-owned company has 30 years of history on Madison’s Northside. TASC (Total Administrative Services Corporation) was founded in 1975 as
Insurance Center Agency in Stevens Point by Don Rashke. In 1987 Don realized the Madison community held more opportunity for his business, and he relocated to 2317 International Lane in 1990.

The site was carefully selected to be near the airport and interstate for convenient business travel, as well as the University of Wisconsin and Madison College.

“We felt the International Lane location was perfect for our business, so when we outgrew the space in 1993, we simply moved down the street to 3106 International Lane,” Dan Rashke recalled.

Dan is Don’s youngest son, who succeeded his father to become CEO in 1995. Dan first joined the company in 1983, working part time in sales while attending UW-Stevens Point.

In 1996 TASC built its corporate headquarters at 2302 International Lane. By 2006 a second office building had opened on the TASC campus. Just 10 years later, TASC employed 700 people across the nation and its annual revenue exceeded $100 million.

Today TASC has satellite offices at O.M. Station (in the former Oscar Mayer office building) and at 316 W. Washington Ave., in addition to its remote workforce outside of Madison. The company is over 1,000 employees strong; transforming the industry with its technology, administration and customer services; and is living a philanthropic mission that is recognized throughout the Madison area.

Though TASC’s rapid expansion is testing the physical limits of its International Lane campus, owners Dan and Patti Rashke are trying to remain on the Northside.

“TASC has been a proud Northside neighbor for three decades,” Patti said. “Many of our employees are residents of this community. We want to put more Northsiders to work in well-paid jobs with good benefits.”

“It has been hard for us to see dwindling support for this region,” added Dan. “Far too many people are disserviced by the lack of large employers in the area. TASC is trying to champion the northeast side.”

When TASC celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2015, Dan and Patti deployed their 500 employees to volunteer at 40 nonprofit organizations around Madison. From Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS) and Porchlight, Inc. to The River Food Pantry and Center for Families (now RISE Wisconsin), TASC employees rolled up their sleeves and put in the time to make this city a better place.

Now marking its 45th anniversary, TASC’s volunteer corps will disperse among the more than 45 schools of Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) on March 11 and 12.

“We’re celebrating this milestone year with a big commitment to improve the health, wealth and well-being of our customers, employees and community,” Dan said. “This ambitious initiative will have two important outcomes: 1) we will provide a meaningful volunteer experience for all TASC employees, and 2) we will enhance the student experience across all MMSD schools.”

“We believe TASC has a bright future,” said Patti. “We look forward to seeing what our people can achieve in 45+ years.”
