Mendota Elementary Community School, 4002 School Road, is kicking off the start of the school year with a block party Saturday, Aug. 25 from 1–4 pm. This event is open to families of Mendota Elementary and the Northside community is invited to join in the fun. Live music, performers and food will be provided, along with games, bounce houses, dunk tanks, face painting, balloon animals, stilt walkers, life animals, a raffle and more.

A resource fair at the event will help Mendota Elementary families learn about activities and opportunities in the Northside community. To reserve a booth, please contact Community School Coordinator, Sonia Spencer, at 204-7862.

Mendota Elementary was named a community school in 2016. A community school builds on community assets while addressing the needs of students, families and the community.
