Duncan Tonatiuh, an award-winning Mexican-American children’s book author and illustrator, is coming to Northside Elementary Schools April 9 and 10.

Tonatiuh will visit Lindbergh Elementary School Monday, April 9. To kick off his visit, Lindbergh will host an all-school assembly. Tonatiuh will then work with second and third-grade classes during their library time, and work with a select group of students who are working to write and illustrate their own work during MSCR after-school programs. Finally, he will meet with Spanish-speaking Lindbergh families for a question and answer session at 5:30 pm and present a program for all Lindbergh families at 6:15 pm.

Mendota Elementary School will host Duncan Tonatiuh Tuesday, April 10.

Duncan Tonatiuh’s books include “Pancho Rabbit and the Coyote: A Migrant’s Tale,” “Separate is Never Equal: Sylvia Mendez and Her Family’s Fight for Desegregation,” “Dear Primo,” and many others.
