2019 Spring Election: Send in your questions for candidates

By Abha Thakkar
Northside Planning Council

The Northside has a tremendous opportunity coming up with the 2019 spring election. Among other races, you’ll have a chance to vote for the mayor and the 12th and 18th District alderpersons.  These races are a way for us to make sure that our elected officials get to know the Northside and are responsive to our needs and priorities.

Towards that end, the Northside Planning Council will be hosting a Mayoral Primary Candidates Forum on Wednesday, Feb. 6 from 6–8 pm at Warner Park Community Recreation Center. So far, all candidates except for Paul Soglin and Michael Flores have committed to attend. We’ll also be inviting candidates to answer questions that we’ll print in the Northside News and on northsidenews.org

We encourage you to not only bring your questions, but to ask the people you’re connected to — through organizations, faith communities, schools or businesses — about their questions. What does your neighborhood want to see from your alderperson or the next mayor of Madison? Feel free to submit those questions to me at director@northsideplanningcouncil.org by Jan. 7, and we’ll pass along a representative sample to the candidates to answer. Let’s make sure the Northside is on the map!
