Pounding the Pavement for the Warner Pool was a success, even though information was disseminated late this year and the weather did not cooperate. The rain didn’t stop 40 walkers from showing support for the pool. A huge thank you goes out to the walkers and volunteers.

Teams this year were Avon by Bev Ninedorf, Badger Aquatics, Chet’s Car Care Center, Chico’s Villa Tap, DuWayne’s Salon, Sherman Neighborhood Association, Vera Court Neighborhood Center and the Walk-a-Rounds. Congratulations to Eric Hermansen and his Chet’s Car Care Center team for signing up the most walkers. Chet’s Car Care won the traveling trophy this year, with DuWayne’s Salon coming in a close second.

Check out photos of the walk posted on the Circle of Friends website at www.friendsofwarner.com.

The next time you are at the Warner Park Community Recreation Center, take a look at the donor board that lists members of the $1,000 Club. Consider adding your name to it. Remember to thank the businesses and your neighbors who have given $1,000 or more for the pool.

Thank you to the following businesses for all their support. Please patronize these businesses to thank them for their commitment to our community: Madison Chiropractic North, DuWayne’s Salon, Chico’s Villa Tap, Chet’s Car Care, McKinney Dental, PDQ Food Stores, Benvenuto’s, Copps, Trendsetters by Diane, Northside True Value Hardware, Pierce’s, Walgreens, HyVee, Edward Jones-Jeff Prebish and Club LaMark.

Thanks also to the following individuals who have shown such strong support: the Borchardts, John and Betty Nicka, JoAnn Walker, Fran Bridge, Donna Hellenbrand, Laura Knoche, Richard and Carol Reese.

Mark your calendars for the next Pounding the Pavement walk scheduled for Aug. 30, 2016. The Circle of Friends needs your help in getting more neighborhoods involved next year.
