Happy 2018 from Warner Park Community Recreation Center (WPCRC). A new year means a fresh start to achieving those ambitious New Year’s resolutions. If you are like me and so many others, you made a commitment to a more active and healthier lifestyle. Now is a great time to put that resolution into action.

It’s also a perfect time to try something new, like an art or pottery class. We have classes and programs for all ages.

Thank you to all the families that have attended Warner Family Fun Nights. These family focused events are in their fourth year and have been a great success, serving over 250 Northsiders each month. We started the school year with record high attendance and lots of excitement from participants. The support of the community makes this a great event, and we hope you continue to come have fun with us.

The next Family Fun Night is Feb. 9. We will have pottery and art projects, family fitness classes, bouncy houses, a movie, bingo and more. March 9 is the Beach Party Family Fun Night. We will show a beach-themed movie (with popcorn), have a beach-themed dance, and lots of fun fantasizing about sunshine and warm weather.

WPCRC had over 221,000 visitors in 2017. As we continue to serve more people in 2018, we are planning new programs and collaborations that celebrate diversity and attract underserved communities. Look for updates on programs and community outreach by signing up for our email blasts or following us on Facebook.

Keep that New Year resolution by hitting the gym and becoming a fitness center member. We have state-of-the-art machines and equipment, flexible and affordable memberships and plans, and opportunities for youth to use the area.

Come visit us at WPCRC and tell us what you think we could be doing to better serve the Northside.
