Warner Pool still on hold

Circle of Friends

Thank you for your support of the Warner Park Community Recreation Center (WPCRC) Circle of Friends (CoF) and for making 2016 another successful year. We hope we can count on your support and membership in the CoF in 2017.

Membership is open to all residents that use the WPCRC and want to be a part of its continuing growth and success. Board members are selected from those who have volunteered to help and have the time to participate on a working board. Our board members are all volunteers. We have no paid staff. We always welcome additional board members.

Fundraising for the pool is on hold until we get a letter of support from Mayor Paul Soglin, which would enable us to go ahead with a financial feasibility study to see how much money can be raised in Dane County. In order for the pool to be financially independent, it will have to be enclosed and competition sized in order to bring in swim teams to help cover operating costs. We know the city doesn’t have any money for a pool, so if we want a pool, we will have to fundraise for it and for an endowment. If not now, Madison will not ever have an indoor, competition-sized pool.

We look forward to your continued support in 2017.
