Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) is pleased to announce that Jacob Tisue is the new MSCR executive director.

Tisue previously worked at the City of Madison Parks Division, where he served as director of the Warner Park Community Recreation Center. His extensive background in parks and recreation includes Cottage Grove Parks and Recreation director, YMCA program director, Madison College instructor and program coordinator for a school district in Iowa. He holds a Master of Science in Recreation Administration from Aurora University, a Bachelor of Arts in Leisure, Youth and Human Services from the University of Northern Iowa and is a Certified Park and Recreation Professional.

The new director is looking forward to leading a diverse organization that offers so many programs and services to the Madison community. According to Tisue, “I am excited to lead this dynamic organization and have a part in shaping the landscape of opportunities that are available to Madison citizens and students.”

Tisue replaces Lucy Chaffin, who recently retired.

MSCR is Madison’s public recreation department, offering a variety of programs for all ages, including arts and enrichment, afterschool, camps, fitness, sports, swimming, tennis and more.
