Drop-in Preschool Storytime

A happy blend of stories, fingerplays and songs help preschool children develop print and phonologic awareness, vocabulary, letter knowledge and narrative skills. Groups are welcome. No registration is required. Note: no storytime Oct. 10; puppet theater Oct. 24.

Fun with Fall Leaves

Ceramics with Juliette Walker

A Visit to the Apostle Islands

Celebrate our National Park Service’s centennial year with a virtual visit to Wisconsin’s own Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. Hosted by John Frank, local author of “Apostle Islands Water Trips — An Explorer’s Guide and Two Decades of Memories,” a guidebook and collection of kayak trip experiences around the Apostle Islands.

Pamirs on a Folding Bike

Stefan Koehler presents photos and stories about his most recent bicycle trip following the Silk Road in Asia. Are you thinking of a bike trip? Stefan will share information about what to bring, how to plan a route, where to stay, etc. Stefan is a lecturer for the Weinert Center of Entrepreneurship at UW-Madison School.

Gentle Morning Yoga for Adults

Kristin Sage leads this 8-session yoga series focusing on mindful movement and breathing to provide support for posture and balance. This introductory series is appropriate for those who can move from the floor to standing without assistance and for those new to yoga. Go Big Read Book Discussion

Join the discussion of UW-Madison’s 2016 Go Big Read Book, “Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City” by Matthew Desmond. In this brilliant, heartbreaking book, Desmond takes us into the poorest neighborhoods of Milwaukee to tell the story of eight families on the edge. One-On-One Writing Assistance
