Are you looking for a way to find great items on sale and support a local elementary school at the same time? Check out the annual garage sale at Gompers Elementary School, 1502 Wyoming Way. The sale will be held Saturday, April 1, 8 am‒2 pm, in the all-purpose room (cafeteria). We will accept items for donation Friday, March 31, 8 am‒8 pm.

We expect to have a large variety of items for sale: household goods, books, toys, clothes and furniture. There will be something for everyone.

“The annual garage sale is one of our favorite events, because it’s open to the community,” said Gompers Elementary Parent-Teacher Organization (GEPTO) President Maia Ouderkirk. “Proceeds from the sale will be used to support family engagement events at the school.”

Another way to support Gompers will be the Election Day bake sale Tuesday, April 4. We’ll have a table set up outside the Black Hawk Middle School polling area. The sale will feature a delicious selection of cookies, bars, doughnuts and breads from which to choose.
