Breakfast with Santa being held Dec. 2 to benefit food pantries

By Steve Nelson
Northside Business Association

Winter is right around the corner and the best way to welcome it is to attend the Northside Business Association Annual Breakfast with Santa or donate tickets to enable Northside children to attend. The annual fundraiser benefits Bread of Life at St. Paul Lutheran Church, The River Food Pantry and the food pantry at Lakeview Lutheran. Donations of personal care items are encouraged and will be donated to the new food pantry at Mendota Elementary Community School.

Breakfast with Santa will be held Saturday, Dec. 2, from  8–11 am at the Esquire Club, 2012 N Sherman Ave. The pancake breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, juice and coffee. Tickets are $6 for ages 12 and up, $4 for ages 3–11, and free for children under age 3 and can be purchased at the door or in advance at DuWayne’s Salon, Kavanaugh’s Esquire Club, Old National Bank and The UPS Store. All proceeds go to benefit the food pantries.

Children will get to sit on Santa’s lap. And, oh yeah, did we mention that Santa will be there with a goodie bag for the first 300 children? Mark your calendars for a fantastic breakfast and to help the local food pantries.
