Warner Pool plans moving forward

By Dorothy Borchardt
Circle of Friends

Good news: both mayoral candidates support the Warner Park pool. More good news: the operating study has been completed, and the aquatic facility will not need any subsidy once it is up and running. The Circle of Friends (CoF) will be meeting with Madison Parks Superintendent Eric Knepp in early April to go over the concept and the schedule to move forward.

The next step will be a financial feasibility study to see if we will be able to raise the needed funds to build the Aquatic Health and Fitness Center without any debt service. If you have any contacts that are interested in being a major donor, please let us know.

Election Day, April 2, is Cookie Day at the Warner Park Community Recreation Center (WPCRC). The pool drawings will be on display. Stop by, look the concept over, share your ideas and buy a cookie.

Membership in the CoF is open to all residents that use the WPCRC and want to be a part of its continuing growth and success. Board members are selected from CoF members who have volunteered to help and have the time to participate on a working board. Our board members are all volunteers; we have no paid staff. New members and volunteers are always welcome. For more information, contact dborchardt1@charter.net.
