Did you know that you have talented friends and neighbors right here on the Northside?

“Still Life with Moth” by Mary Wright

We hope you’ll stop in at the Lakeview Library March 2‒30 to enjoy the NorthSide Artists Group (NSAG) exhibit entitled “Gems.” We plan to fill the library’s meeting rooms with color and beauty to break up those late winter doldrums.

You will see Marilyn R. O’Brien’s colorful piece “Rooster,” which is particularly special to her. Marilyn had this to say about her painting, “My mom was a farm gal and she loved it so I painted this rooster in her memory and to honor her.”

Mary Wright’s acrylic painting titled “Still Life with Moth” will also be featured. Mary described her artwork as “a whimsical collection of everyday objects, colors, textures and sparkle; seeing beauty in the mundane.”

Are you an artist in any medium and any level from beginner to professional? Would you like to share your work with the community? Please join us.

NSAG was founded in 2005 with 15 artists and is continually growing. The group is open to all artists who live, work or volunteer on Madison’s Northside. In addition to its exhibits, NSAG holds membership meetings, a summer event and occasional receptions and retreats.

NSAG’s goal is to create a community of artists who work together and support each other. Its focus is on providing opportunities for local artists to show their artwork. We are a group of artists who respect each other and find resources in others that we may not have individually.
