NewBridge Executive Director, Marcia Hendrickson

Welcome to 2019 and our new senior service agency, NewBridge. I am honored to serve as the executive director of the new organization, after serving as the executive director of the South Madison Coalition of the Elderly. I look forward to bringing you news of the programs, activities and special events NewBridge will be providing for older adults throughout the city of Madison, with a focus on what is happening at Warner Park Community Recreation Center (WPCRC) where the offices of NewBridge-North (formerly NESCO) are located.

We will continue to build upon the strong foundation of outstanding services, programs, activities and events that have been provided to residents of the Northside for the past 40 years by the exceptional staff and volunteers.

The executive director of NESCO, Jim Krueger, will be focusing on several new initiatives, serving as the Fund Development/Programs Director for NewBridge, and will continue to be a presence at WPCRC. It is our plan that the successful fundraising events sponsored by NESCO in the past, including Applefest, Black Tie Bingo and the Summer Concert Series, will expand as we bring together additional resources throughout the entire city.

The current meal sites, regular programs and activities, and case management services will continue as they have in the past, since we have made every attempt to keep all previous employees of the four senior coalitions engaged and employed through the merger process. We know there will be challenges as we transition into a new entity, especially with different communication systems, but we are confident that we are well on our way to building a successful agency to serve the current and future needs of the fast-growing population of older adults in the city of Madison.
