Madison is tied with Las Vegas for the most dog parks per capita, but where do dogs play while their owners are away?

Dog Dog Daycare, founded by Jennifer StCyr, opened its first retail location this past week in the Northgate Shopping Center on Madison’s Northside.
According to the Trust for Public Land’s March 2018 rankings, Madison is tied with Las Vegas for having the most dog parks per capita. StCyr has recognized the need for dogs to have a place to play while their owners are away and the need to provide dog owners with peace of mind knowing their pets are safely socializing throughout their absence.
“What do we do differently at Dog Dog? It’s the little things,” says StCyr. “We celebrate birthdays and new siblings, actively engage in play with our dogs, share real-time photos and videos of play throughout the day and have an open floor plan allowing people to watch us interact with their dogs and watch their dogs interact with others. Your dog will go home happy and tired.”
StCyr’s passion for her own three dogs inspired Dog Dog daycare, and she has expansion plans to include a dog bakery, pet-lovers retail space with locally curated dog-themed goods, dog walking services and dog training. When entering the space you’re greeted with a vibrant, blue interior basked in natural light. At nearly 5,000 square feet, Dog Dog is virtually twice the size of many local dog daycare facilities yet maintains similar occupancy levels, meaning dogs have more room to safely play and rest. Dog Dog offers separate play areas for small, medium and large dogs; has convenient at-the-door parking for quick drop-offs; and is one of the only dog daycare facilities in Madison that doesn’t currently have a waiting list.
Located at 1201 N. Sherman Avenue, Dog Dog’s business hours are 6 am — 6 pm Monday through Friday.
