We are NewBridge

We are excited to announce that theNorth/Eastside Senior Coalition (NESCO) is merging with the other three Madison Senior Coalitions to become NewBridge Jan. 1, 2019. The four coalitions are joining forces to provide more and better services to the greater Madison community of older adults.

NewBridge will offer case management, meal sites, home chore assistance, social opportunities and other services for older adults. There will be an office on each side of town, with the Northside office inside the Warner Park Community Recreation Center (WPCRC). Currently offered programs or services will continue to be provided to older adults on the Northside. Administrative work that has been duplicated in four locations will be centralized. We anticipate having a greater, more coordinated impact as one organization and look forward to providing more and better services to older adults in Madison.

NESCO’s name has served us well for over 40 years, and we thank all the board members who have worked tirelessly on this process — especially NESCO board members Jan Somerfeld, Walt Stewart and Linda Jallings, who served on the collaboration planning committee.

NESCO will have a Holiday Tree in the lobby of the WPCRC again this year. There will be 100 tags on the tree, each identifying a gift needed by one of our older adults. You simply pick a tag off the tree, purchase the gift (no used gifts, please) and bring the unwrapped gift, with the tag attached, to the NESCO office inside the WPCRC. All gifts must be dropped off at the NESCO office by 4 pm Monday, Dec. 17. For more details, contact Ruth Hellenbrand at 243-5252 ext. 209 or rhellenbrand@nescoinc.org.

Happy holidays from the NESCO Staff.
