Nonprofits, businesses or individuals who provide community resources serving the Northside of Madison are invited to participate in a resource fair that is part of the 4th Annual Mendota Elementary Community Block Party. The block party and resource fair will be held Saturday, Aug. 24, from 12–4 pm.

A community school builds on community assets while addressing the needs of the students, families and community. The popular block party is widely attended and combines fun to build community and helpful information from the resource fair to benefit scholars and their parents. The resources empower parents to provide them with the tools they need to advocate for their children and to continue in their own personal growth.

School Road will be closed for a few blocks during the party. Resource tables are located near activities that include a petting zoo, stilt walkers, dunk tank, carnival games, live music, food carts and more. Resource Fair participants should bring a table and are encouraged to bring a pop up tent for sun protection.

Mendota Elementary is located at 4002 School Road. To sign up for a table space, please contact Community School Coordinator, Sonia Spencer, at stspencer@madison.k12.wi.us or call 608-204-7862.
