Mark your calendar for Library Palooza 2018

Mark your calendar for the Fifth Annual Lakeview Library Palooza Saturday, Oct. 13, at the library. The free event starts at 10 am and ends at 2 pm.

Library Palooza will feature entertainment throughout the day, including the Yiddish folk music group Yid Vicious at 1 pm inside the library. Other musical entertainment may be provided in front of the library.

Mary Carol McCartney of the Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey will bring trilobite replicas and materials for activities to go with them from 10 am‒12 pm in the library. (The trilobite is the state fossil.)

Bubbles will be blown in the library garden and FaceMuse will paint faces in front of the library from 11 am‒1 pm. Dream Bikes will repair bikes in front of the library from 12‒2 pm.

Another popular feature of the annual event will be first responder personnel and vehicles, which will be in the parking lot in front of the library 10 am‒12 pm. A firetruck from Station 10, a North District police squad car, a Ryan Brothers ambulance and — most loved by children — a canine officer and friend, are sure to draw a crowd.

Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of Lakeview Library, which is sponsoring the event. Children attending will also receive a free book, courtesy of the Friends.
