Bring a favorite book (or find one at the library) and read aloud to a furry friend. Time slots are available on a first come, first served basis.

Preschool Art Class with Amy Mietzel
Mondays, Dec. 3‒17, 10:30 am
Experiment with collage, puppet making, sculpture and more as we share a story and create art with local artist Amy Mietzel. Smocks or “messy” clothes are recommended. For preschoolers ages 3‒5.

Library LEGO Club
Tuesdays, Dec. 18 and Jan. 15, 4‒5 pm
Flex your engineering and design muscles and join other LEGO fans to build your own unique creation. (Note: LEGOs are the featured Terrific Tuesday activity on these dates.)

Saturday Family Matinee

Join us at the library for a full-length family movie. We’ll provide the popcorn. Visit our online calendar or call the library two weeks before the movie date for titles.

Family Music Time

Preschool Storytime

A happy blend of stories, fingerplays and songs that help preschool children ages 3‒5 develop pre-reading, early math and social skills. Daycares, groups and siblings are always welcome.

Minecraft® Club
Monday, Jan. 7, 2:30‒4:30 pm
Grab your friends for multiplayer Minecraft® fun at the library and connect to the library’s private servers for a customized gameplay experience using Minecraft EDU. No account is necessary. Ages 17 and under. Sign up for 30-minute turns based on attendance. Minecraft® programming is funded by a gift from the Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Foundation.

Tabletop Game Club
Saturday, Jan. 12, 2‒3 pm
Bring some friends or join other kids for chess, checkers and other tabletop games. Play our games or bring your favorite one to share. For children in grades K‒12. Drop in and stay as long as you like.

Maker Monday
Monday, Jan. 14, 3‒4 pm
Dig in to Maker Kit activities and explore hands-on artistic and creative tools for building, creating and playing. For children ages 7‒12; supervised younger siblings are welcome. Check online or call the library for this week’s activity.

Panels and Pizza: A Graphic Novel Discussion Club
Monday, Jan. 28, 4‒5 pm
Children ages 10‒13 are welcome to join their peers for a monthly meet-up to read and discuss graphic novels. We’ll be talking about old favorites, reading new titles and doing occasional activities around them. Pizza will be served.

Terrific Tuesdays
Tuesdays, Dec. 4‒18 and Jan. 8‒29, 4‒5 pm
Join us every Tuesday for all sorts of creative projects. There will be arts and crafts, cooking, games and more.

Story Starlings — T(w)een Writing Group
Wednesdays, Dec. 5 and Jan. 2, 6:30‒7:30 pm
This is a writing group for tween/teen writers of every level. Bring your story ideas, outlines or finished pieces and discuss them with peers. Led by a local writer, the group meets on the first Wednesday of the month. Snacks are provided.

Suminagashi
Monday, Dec. 3, 6‒7:30 pm.
Registration begins Nov. 19.
Ink on water is magical. Suminagashi is a Japanese form of paper marbling. People who do this workshop are mesmerized at what happens when you let go and get curious. In the end you take home marbled paper, but the real power is in the process. For ages 12 and up. Call 246-4547 to register.

Chocolate Truffles with Punky Egan

Punky will demonstrate how to make quick and easy truffles for the upcoming holidays. The key is using good quality, dark chocolate for the richest taste. Sample an assortment of flavors. The class is limited to 14. Call 246-4547 to register.

Seasonal Soups

Chef Lily Kilfoy will teach the art of creating homemade soups and vegetable stock. She will demonstrate two soup recipes: Butternut Squash Bisque and Creamy Tomato Soup, as well as Grilled Cheese Croutons. Samples will be served. Vegetarian and nut-free. The class is limited to 20. The Art of Crafting Herbal Elixirs and Tonics for Winter Health

Movie Night: “Crazy, Rich Asians”

Depression Presentation

Margo Nelson, LPC-IT and owner of Courage Counseling, will discuss the many facets of depression, the challenges of living with depression, how to support a loved one and helpful strategies. There will be time for questions and discussion.

A black detective sets out to infiltrate the Colorado chapter of the Ku Klux Klan with the help of his Jewish colleague in order to obtain insider information on the violent organization. Rated R. Light refreshments will be served.
