Dreaming of a career change or just want to get a job? Sign up for the Feed Bakery Training Program to receive three months of bakery and commercial kitchen training. This short-term program is a good fit for students interested in entry-level work or career development. The class is available at no charge for the unemployed or underemployed.

The program provides hands-on training in making pastries, cookies, bread and cakes. Class topics cover catering, sales and bakery math, and prepares students to take the ServSafe exam. The qualifications needed are a desire to learn, the physical ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds of flour and to be able to stand for six hours a day.

Students who have graduated say this is more than just a class.

  • “The program gave me confidence to do and produce things I only dreamed of.”
  • “I love the comradery I found in the class setting.”
  • “I learned to clean and that makes me valuable to my employer.”
  • “I met my soulmate in the class, and we will be married next week.”
  • “I met people that continue to be my friends.”
  • “The class gave me a feeling of accomplishment.”

Those people that desire a new beginning and a life career change are encouraged to apply. The next class starts Wednesday, Sept. 4. Please contact FEED Bakery Coordinator Martee Mikalson, at coordinator@feedbakery.org or 608-230-1224.
