Community news at heart of new partnership between Madison365 and the Northside News
Madison365 is a multimedia news outlet for and by Wisconsin’s communities of color and a content partner of the Northside News.

Multimedia news outlet Madison365 and community newspaper the Northside News have entered a content-sharing agreement. Both outlets developed to share news produced by and for the communities they serve: Madison365 as an online platform focused on issues important to Wisconsin’s communities of color, and the Northside News as a bimonthly newspaper delivered to residents on Madison’s Northside for over 20 years.

Within the new partnership, Madison365 will republish stories from the Northside News on the outlet’s online platform. The Northside News will republish content produced by Madison365 in both its bimonthly print edition and its growing online paper.

“Madison365 is all about community, keeping the community informed, and highlighting the work of people in our community,” said Madison365 Publisher and CEO Henry Sanders. “What Northside News has been doing aligns perfectly with that, and we are excited to bring all the exciting things happening in the Northside to a wider audience.”

The Northside News is a program of the Northside Planning Council (NPC), a nonprofit community development organization working to advance racial and economic equity on the Northside of Madison.

“The Northside News grew out of a need to connect neighbors in one of the most diverse areas of the city,” said NPC executive director and Northside News editor Abha Thakkar. “Over the past 20 years, we have worked to amplify the voices of residents. In a time of growing disconnect, we are excited to both share the stories of the Northside with the broader Madison community through this new partnership, and to bring extended coverage from Madison365’s community journalism to the Northside.”
