Community event kicks off new Starlings season in Madison
Club members fundraised to attend San Diego Starlings National Tournament.

Madison Starlings Volleyball Club will begin their season for middle school students with 13s and 14s team tryouts this Sunday, Oct. 7 from 12:304 pm.

Madison Starlings will also celebrate the opening of their season at Warner Park Community Recreation Center (WPCRC) from 46 pm that day with a celebration reflecting a “gratitude attitude.”  Seventeen youth who attended the Starlings National Tournament in San Diego, CA in June will be honored. Organizations and individuals who supported Madison Starlings in this mission will also be honored. Previous Starlings participants are encouraged to attend.

The event is open to the public and free light snacks will be provided.

Madison Starlings is open to sixth graders through 17-year-olds and will have a series of tryouts based on age, with the first tryouts on Oct. 7 at WPCRC, 1625 Northport Drive. Full details available at madisonstarlings.com. Membership is $50 to practice, $25 for youth with free and reduced lunch. Tournament team fees vary, but membership can be earned through volunteering. Madison Starlings exists to combat the pay-to-play phenomena that prevents access to many due to time and money.
