Local author Muriel Simms will be the speaker at the annual meeting of the Friends of Lakeview Library Thursday, Feb. 28, at the library. Simms will discuss her book, “Settlin’: Stories of Madison’s Early African-American Families.”

The event will begin at 6 pm with refreshments provided by the Friends of Lakeview. A very brief meeting will take place at 6:30 pm, followed by the speaker.

Everyone is welcome to attend, enjoy the refreshments, meet Ms. Simms and hear her speak. Only members of the Friends of Lakeview can vote during the meeting.
